When should you come to see us? We suggest that you make an appointment for a cleaning and an examination at least twice a year. Regular visits with our dentist, Dr. Christopher Louie will allow him to give you a thorough examination and spot any small problems before they become big ones. If you have a condition that need more attention, we may suggest that you visit us on a more frequent basis. The doctor will discuss an appointment schedule with you after your initial exam. Your child should have his first visit to the dentist within six months of getting his first tooth, but before his first birthday.

If you notice any pain or swelling in your mouth, or you have noticed anything out of the ordinary, you should contact our office for an appointment. Likewise, if you experience an accident or trauma affecting your mouth, reach out to us as soon as you can.

If you are pregnant, or think you might be expecting, if you have recently been diagnosed with a disease, or if you have started a new medication, it is a good idea to let us know. Depending on your medical situation, the dentist may want to see you and talk with your physician.

While you’re here, we will give you a complete cleaning to remove the plaque and tartar from your teeth and from below your gumline. The dentist will also give you a careful examination to look for signs of cavity or disease. X-rays may be taken to give the dentist a complete picture of what is happening with your teeth and jaws.

If you have been putting off your six month checkup or you are experiencing pain or discomfort with your teeth, or if you have noticed something out of the ordinary, contact Louie Family Dentistry in Fremont, California, at 510-656-7778. We’ll be happy to make an appointment to see you.
